US GDP by State

Beautiful. Totally simple and totally fascinating. Would love a Flash version that allows you to mouse-over for each state’s stats (also check Michigan, looks like you forgot the Northern Peninsula).

could be much better – its almost impossible to tell the gdp per capita stats, which is really the key figure. per-state gdp is influence too significantly by square miles / size. You should have used the colors for the per capita figures, and used different cross hatching styles (vertical, horizontal, diag, cross, etc.) to display per state….
