Where does the 30 billion to supply all the world with water statistic come from? (Source?)

In the big picture, 30 billion isn't that much money, so why are people still dying every day of dehydration and poor sanitation related diseases?

The article shows the interest collected by the government, but doesn't include the (equally or more valuable) warrants. The value of JPM warrants in the neighborhood of $1 billion or $2 billion.

Excluding GM, Chrysler, and AIG, who were not the intended recipients of TARP in the first place, the Treasury Department is going to make a ton of money on this. TARP was a big win for the government and it's irresponsible that they continue to use banks as scapegoats, and what might even be worse is the media hopping on the anti-bank bandwagon.

On a related topic, there is public misunderstanding regarding bank failures and who bears the cost. Losses in the FDIC insurance fund caused by bank failures only deplete the fund and are ultimately borne by the banks who pay into the fund, not taxpayers. Taxpayers lose nothing, and in fact, so-called "sweetheart deals" increase tax revenue for the IRS.

Why is Obama shaking hands with the lobbyist at the bottom? The TARP program was created during the Bush administration. Obama did the Recovery and Reinvest in America act (the stimulus bill was called something like that). Bush is the one who did TARP.
